2017 Tasca d’Almerita “Guarnaccio” Perricone Sicilia DOC
I’ve been getting to try grapes that are new to me (or ones that I have rarely tried) more often of late, and if the Perricone is any indication–I need to do it more often.

The 2016 Garofoli “Piancarda” Rosso Conero DOC gives me the first bottle of Montepulciano in nearly 10 years. I think the 10 years has done me well.
Another bottle of Verdicchio, the 2016 Garofoli “Podium” Verdicchio is definitely a different approach to the same grape.
A new grape for me, the 2018 Garofoli “Macrina” Verdicchio surprised me with flavour and value. Always good to find.
A $12 Chianti that didn’t leave me with a raging headache? Yeah….it actually happened.
Good value from Italy without having to get a Chianti or Pinot Grigio? Who knew? Check out why I liked the 2017 Renzo Masi Erta e China (besides the fun name).
