2020 Lahusen Riesling
Somtimes you’re just not sure what to make of a wine. It’s not bad, but you’re also confused by it. The 202 Lahusen Riesling did that to me. I liked it, but every sip made me say “huh?”

Dark fruits, warm spices, big flavors, and balanced acidity. A great wine for pairing with big foods on cold nights.
Crisp, refreshing, with balanced notes of apple, citrus, and stone fruit. See why the 2024 Bouza Albarino was a great way to kick off the year.
Good body, soft tannins, and a blend that is welcome in my home any day. Check out my thoughts and you’ll see why the 2019 Afton Mountain Vineyards T was a 2024 Virginia Governor’s Cup medalist.
While I may not have been familiar with Hark Vineyards before this, they’re definitely on my radar and they should be on yours, too.
It’s been a while since I’ve done of these, and the 2022 Mountain & Vine Chardonnay, a member of the 2024 Virginia Governor’s Case, is a pretty good place to start.
