Winemaker’s Notes: Light yellow colour with green hues. Lime and apple aromas. Balanced with crisp natural acidity. Pair with ceviche and Thai food dishes.
My Review: It’s hella hot outside, which makes a crisp South American Sauvignon Blanc a must-have item in my house right now. Seriously, we had 2 weeks of above 95 degree temps; I’ve been drinking nothing but Sauvignon Blanc and Rose’ for most of the last month. So let’s dive right in.
In the glass the wine was pale yellow; very light, almost clear. On the nose I got aromas of lime mostly, with a hint of fresh cut grass. On the palate I got lots of lime, acid, and citrus with a bit of green apple and a nice crisp, clean finish.
My wife and I paired the wine with chicken sausages on the 4th of July (‘Murica!). It was a good pairing, the acid of the wine balancing out the fat of the sausage.
For $13 it’s a good summer afternoon wine. It’s not something I’d grab for a special night, but as we wind down summer and those last cookouts of the year happen, it’s a great wine to pop open on a hot day and share with friends and something off the grill.
Editor’s Note: I received this wine as a free sample for review.
