Winemaker’s Notes: Pale and pretty crystal clear pink. Strawberries and red berries aromas with orange zest notes. Lively with fresh acidity and fruity palate. Pair with appetizers, chicken, and pasta dishes.

My Review: We drink a lot of rose’ in my house. Like a lot. It’s North Carolina. It’s hot. It’s humid. You need something crisp and refreshing. Rose’ tends to do the job. Which brings us to the 2019 Domaine Bousquet Rose’. I’m always in the market for budget rose’ (since it’s our go-to this time of year), and this certainly fit the bill. But was it any good?

The wine had a nice salmon pink colour to it, and on the nose I picked up aromas of flowers and juicy strawberry. On the palate the wine had refreshing tart strawberry and lime/citrus notes.

My wife and I paired the wine with season 3 of Stranger Things (when Dustin and his girlfriend sang the theme song for the Neverending Story I almost snorted wine out of my nose), and I have to say, it was a good pairing. You could pair this with a bunch of summer-friendly dishes, but the crisp, refreshing notes made it a great sipper on a warm afternoon watching Netflix.

Editor’s Note: I received this wine as a free sample for review.
